We all know the saying: Hurt people HURT people. But do you know that Healed people HEAL people?I was told this second phrase last week in a training evening, and I believe it to be true- healed people heal people.Let's unpack the two sayings.Hurting PeopleHave you been hurt? We all have.Probably that person has hurt you because they themselves are hurt - and they may not even have noticed that they hurt you because they were focusing on protecting themselves.
Failure Have you made some mistakes, well, good! You're human. So am I! It is not the mistake or the failure that is the problem. Learning how to avoid failures from previous ones is the way to get ahead. Below you will find a list of 10 causes of failure, taken from Napoleon Hill (from Think and Grow Rich) and modernized for today. Quotes are from N. Hill. Causes • Unorganized, "no time" "No genuine leader is ever "too busy" to do anything which may be required ..."

What are you reading? What are you learning? I have an old friend who regularly greets her friends with the question, "What are you reading?" I love that question, because it assumes that the person is a learner and a reader. I think we should be both. So the second question that goes with the first is "What are you learning?" That leads to a pre-question: What are your goals? What books and articles are you reading that lead you to your goals?
Need some help to focus in the next few days and weeks? Coronavirus got you stuck? When you think about the next few months, what is your outlook? How are you going to cope?

Got problems? We all have, but what's there to do? My day yesterday had its ups and downs. Maybe your day, week or month is like that, too. – full of decisions, full of positives and perceived negatives. It's a balance, in the end.
Hard times, even now in one of the nicest months of the year, can happen. Maybe your firm is now on shaky terms because of Brexit, maybe you have had a bad performance review, maybe you are unemployed, maybe you are in the midst of personal, family, or health problems. Maybe you live in a place where peace is threatened and safety is not sure. I have friends in each of these situations, and I know I am not alone in saying that for many, hard times are upon us.
About 35 years ago I heard a talk that was titled "Find the Floor" and although I can't remember the specific content of the talk, the main idea remains: One needs a point of reference to be able to do amazing things. The metaphor The picture was one of doing standing flips on a gymnastics mat: the floor is the reference point, and should you lose your balance in the middle of the move, you find the floor and put your feet down.
Re-inventing Yourself - a Myth or Reality? I have recently read a couple of articles that said you could (or couldn't) re-invent yourself. Well, that is a good question. Can you re-invent yourself and if yes, to what extent and how? Yes, we all can change Based on research, I believe every person is able to change until their life on this earth ends. So, my answer would be a qualified yes. I will tell you a story about myself that illustrates this qualified yes. An example from my teenage years
Working with Communications experts makes me a bit spoiled. I assume everyone knows meeting etiquette and structure. But this is not the case. Recently I discovered something that I thought everyone knew and followed doesn't often happen- meeting etiquette and even agendas are not always followed, or even written, let alone minutes taken and shared with all participants. So here are my tips for discussion at meetings (agendas and minutes ideas can be googled, so they are left out):
